Difference between girls and boys rights
This quote from the book tells how boys are more celebrated than girls because the last name of the family goes on if that family has a boy, but if they have a girl then the last name doesn't stay on. "I was a girl in a land where rifles are fired in celebration of a son, while daughters are hidden away behind a curtain, their role in life simply to prepare food and give birth to children." 2.This quote tells me that even though the women cook dinner the men still get the better part of the chicken. I think that this happens because men get to go work so the women should cook the dinner and offer the best part of the meal to the men for all that they have done. "When a chicken was slaughtered for dinner the girls would get the wings and the neck while the luscious breast meat was enjoyed by my father, his brother and my grandfather." (Page 29)

3.This quote also tells me that even a grown women cant even have her own bank account because its more of a man's job to have a bank account because he's the one who happens to make all the money. "A women couldn't even open a bank account without a man's permission." (Page 31)
All three of these quotes that I found from the book shows how women are treated differently than men, and how they aren't that much appreciated for all that they do. I think that this is horrible that women don't get to have the same equal rights as the opposite gender. This makes women feel powerless and that they shouldn't be here in this world for just watching kids and cooking dinner. All three of these quotes I found definitely show many differences between gender rights.
